I don’t get the chance to post as often as I want to these days but I do update my Flickr and Instagram pretty frequently so you can see a lot of my food porn on both of them. If you haven’t noticed already I’ve switched from using the iPhone 5 and am now proudly sporting a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which better suits my needs because of the customization, larger screen, and expandable capabilities. Although the iPhone 5 is a nice phone, I like most people have gotten bored of it and tired of Apple’s restrictions on how I can use my phone. I love the fact that I can load as many songs and videos I want in several different formats and it’s great that I can pop in a 32GB MicroSD card and not worry about space. I like it so much that I’ve pretty much broken free of the Apple eco-system and eliminated the need for having an iPad Mini because it was redundant having both. The Note 2 is good enough to cover both the phone and the tablet for my uses. The eco-system thing is all hype anyway. I have no issues surviving without iMessage which can easily be substituted with apps like LINE or Facebook Chat. The people who matter to me have them already and if they don’t, they like me enough to install them! PhotoStream was an annoyance and uploading photos to Dropbox is a better solution. I could go on and on but people who gave Android a chance and love it have already said the same things over and over.
This session of Geek Life covers the usual food, tech, and I also went to Mardis Gras in New Orleans as well as take a cruise to the West Caribbean! Don’t worry, I wasn’t stranded on that Carnival Cruise!
Our friend Lin invited us over for some homemade Indian food. It was absolutely fantastic!
Karo is always awesome in the kitchen. She can make anything, including desserts. This just happens to be one of my favorites!
I love Shabu Shabu. Especially the Tokyo Shabu in Monterey Park which has also opened a new location close to where I live in Pasadena!
After a good work out, Wahoo’s tacos are really rewarding. I always as for the “Green Sauce” which makes ANY of their dishes a million times better.
Sizzlers buffet never gets old. This was the healthiest meal I could come up with!
Where else can you get filet mignon, chicken and pasta for less than $10? Bacali, that’s where!
One of Karo’s creations. A super healthy pizza for breakfast. Loved it.
Gus’s BBQ in South Pasadena makes some mean chilli. This is considered “cup sized” and if you ask for a bowl, it’s a monstrosity. Best chili in Southern California in my opinion.
And here we have Gus’s BBQ plate. You will leave here happy!
Power Chopper Salad at Wahoo’s. Again, ASK FOR THE GREEN SAUCE!
Routan, Hondorus was beautiful. Hard to find places like this back in the US!
Typical meal in Belize. Enjoyed it very much!
Was in New Orleans so of course, we had to stop by the world famous Cafe Du Monde. It was meh more than anything.
Mardis Gras was insane. And so were the people.
There were a lot of interesting floats, such as this one.
Me and Karo and all the beads we collected 😉
The first thing Karo and I did when we came back to California was hit up Noodle World and ordered ramen and spicy spaghetti! We missed eating good asian fusion food!
Chinese sausage, ciabatta bread, and cucumbers. Another amazing breakfast by Karo
I cleaned up my workspace. It had crap all over it and it was stressing me out.
My collection of handhelds that I keep on my desk for “research” but the only things I really take with me are my Oakleys, Fitbit One, and of course the Galaxy Note II.
Fancy breakfast pancake made by Karo. It was as good as it looked!
I haven’t had Corner Bakery in a long time so Karo and I went there for lunch one Sunday. My favorite is the Uptown Turkey Sandwich. Their chili is pretty good too.
Picked up the Mophie Juicepack Helium to review. Been waiting a very long time for this because the iPhone 5 has crappy battery life. Thankfully I have the Note II which lasts the whole day AND I can carry a spare battery. The Mophie however, is the best power solution for the iPhone 5 unless you want to carry around a battery brick. You can read my review here!
I’m no stranger to Mophie. Here’s my collection of battery cases I had for the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and now for the iPhone 5!
I picked up the Microsoft Surface Pro to review. I was actually quite impressed. You can read my review on Tablet PC Review over here!
Here’s the Surface Pro with my Note II.
Was craving burger and fries one day so I want to Star Burgers which is an awesome local hole in the wall burger joint!
To celebrate our anniversary, Karo and I celebrated by having brunch at The Langham.
Here’s a panorama shot of The Langham using the Note II. It’s really beautiful.
A shot of all my devices on deck! I sure wish the iMac had a touch screen!
I love ramen. If you make me a good bowl of ramen, I will love you forever! Ramen with fried rice… that’s a match made in heaven. I really recommend eating at Tamaya in Alhambra. It’s actually run by real Japanese people instead of the usual Chinese or Koreans pretending to speak Japanese!
Picked up the Microsoft Wedge Mouse which I still have yet to review. It’s actually pretty compact and works really well. I am liking it so far. I should have a review up shortly.
There’s always room for Korean BBQ! I can eat that anytime just like ramen!
I can never get enough of the Korean side dishes (Banchan!)
Here’s the Dell XPS 12 tablet hybrid which is also pending review. It’s a fantastic device and I love the fact that it can play any video format, any streaming service, and runs full version of Windows without any stupid apps, like the Surface Pro. However, the screen is much better and the built in keyboard is fantastic!
Lily sure has grown a lot! This is here “OH NO YOU DIDN’T!” face.
All the pictures are fabulous and great ii really like your all pictures. Without these pictures and your great memories i cannot able to understand the real meaning of memories. But thanks to you that you shared me all these great pictures.
