This has been one crazy year as I have been changing my gadgets like how women change their shoes and purses! I would say that in the past 6 months, almost all of my gadgets have been refreshed and a lot of it has to do with the way I work. I used to work at home and in the office more often but now I’m out in the field quite a bit so I need a lot of power (I’m talking both batteries and system performance) on the go these days. 2011 wasn’t really an impressive year, but 2012 has been a great leap for mobile tech for both work and play. I used to think that having a keyboard on a tablet defeats the purpose of having a tablet, especially the iPad. iOS on the iPad is swipe and touch centric and onscreen keyboard is surprisingly good for text and data entry. The iPad supports Bluetooth keyboards but carrying around the Apple Keyboard adds a lot of weight and space and most third party keyboard/case combinations are very cumbersome and unresponsive. Just picked up one of these earlier today and will post a review within the next few days, possibly tomorrow or even tonight if time permits! I was a bit skeptical on the practicality of having a keyboard for the iPad but so far I’ve been very impressed. Keys are very responsive, the unit itself is very light and thin, and it places the iPad in an ergonomic typing and viewing angle. Surprisingly, it’s much easier to type with the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard than it is with the MacBook Air keyboard!
