Heloideo Battery Power Bank for iPhone and USB C Android Phones with Built in Lightning Review

Posted on December 19, 2017 by Louie Tran Posted in Daily News, Reviews Leave a comment

My review of the Heloideo Power Bank for the iPhone and USB-C devices. This has the lightning cable and USB-C connections built right in which is cool. Only concern is that I don’t see this labeled as MFI certified (made for iPhone) so that might cause some concerns. This however charged my iPhone X without problems, as well as my Samsung Galaxy S8+ I apologize for the crappy quality of the video. I was sick and I don’t have all my camera equipment unpacked from moving!

Samsung Galaxy S8 Unlocked for $649

Posted on May 26, 2017 by Louie Tran Posted in Daily News, Gadgets 1 Comment

Samsung’s hottest new phone is now on sale for $649 on Amazon. No guarantee on how long that deal will last but these current retail at $720+ so I’d jump on it now. This is the GSM International Unlocked model and will work on T-Mobile, AT&T and other GSM carriers in the USA, as well as all over the world. If you need the Verizon version, you can get it here. The Galaxy S8 is arguable the best looking phones out right now, as well as having one of the best cameras trumping the iPhone 7 according to Mac World!

The Galaxy S8 features:

  • Infinity Display: a bezel-less, full-frontal, edge-to-edge screen. Default resolution is Full HD+ and can be changed to Quad HD+ (WQHD+) in Settings
  • Camera resolution – Front: 8 MP AF, Rear: 12 MP OIS AF
  • Memory: Internal Memory 64 GB, RAM 4GB / Expandable MicroSD Storage
  • Battery: 3000 mAh with USB-C 3.0 Wireless Quick Charging
  • IP68 Dust and Water Resistance.

You can pick it up here: http://amzn.to/2rHunkN

If you want the large Galaxy S8+ it is available here: http://amzn.to/2rHvDo6

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 – First Impressions Review

Posted on August 20, 2016 by Louie Tran Posted in Daily News, Gadgets, Geek Life, Reviews 2 Comments

galaxy-note7_curve_phone

My first impressions (less than 24 hours) coming from an iPhone 6S Plus and Nexus 6P before that. These are just my Notes (yes I meant to do that) written so far for an upcoming video / review so I apologize if it looks messy.

  • Design is incredible. Hard to believe that this has a larger screen that the Plus and is physically smaller and lighter
  • Always on Display seemed gimicky at first but it makes great desk clock and I already find it useful
  • Fingerprint scanner is as fast as the iPhone’s but I like the Nexus 6P’s execution better
  • Touch Wiz has been a pretty smooth experience. If you hate the cartoony looking icons, just go to the theme store and download a theme. I am using Material, which was free.
  • I was a little squeamish in shutting off iMessage at first, but there are only two people I really iMessage anyway. Everyone else has WhatsApp, Facebook, and Hangouts. I got over it in 30 minutes.
  • Bloatware on the T-Mobile variant isn’t so bad, but it still sucks. At least you can easily disable it
  • I use both OSX and Windows with Chrome as my main browser. Chrome does an excellent job in integrating the experience (continuity) between your phone and Mac/PC. I have a bunch of tabs open in Chrome on my Mac, and then when I need to take a dump or something, I can just continue off what I’m reading on my phone
  • Notification light: It changes everything.

iPhone 6s Review

Overview

What do the iPhone 6 and the 6s have in common? Almost everything. What has changed? Well according to Apple, “the only thing that’s changed is EVERYTHING.” Not to speak in riddles but that more or less sums it up for this year’s iPhone in a sense. Last year, around this time, Apple introduced the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus to compete with the larger variety of screen sizes that were offered by the completion. One of the biggest selling points of Android is that the screen was larger and quite a bit of people avoided getting an iPhone because no one wanted to let go of the larger screen sized phones. As you can imagine, Apple has won over those people who wished the iPhone had a bigger screen.
Now we fast forward to this year, we get the iPhone 6s that improves everything from the iPhone 6 such as a faster processor, 12MP camera, and other new features. But is that enough reason to upgrade from an iPhone 6? Let’s find out.
