Heloideo Battery Power Bank for iPhone and USB C Android Phones with Built in Lightning Review

Posted on December 19, 2017 by Louie Tran Posted in Daily News, Reviews Leave a comment

My review of the Heloideo Power Bank for the iPhone and USB-C devices. This has the lightning cable and USB-C connections built right in which is cool. Only concern is that I don’t see this labeled as MFI certified (made for iPhone) so that might cause some concerns. This however charged my iPhone X without problems, as well as my Samsung Galaxy S8+ I apologize for the crappy quality of the video. I was sick and I don’t have all my camera equipment unpacked from moving!

Moto 360 vs Pebble Steel vs Rado vs Emporio Armani!

Posted on December 31, 2014 by Louie Tran Posted in Daily News, Gadgets, Geek Life Leave a comment

Just got the Moto 360 along with the Nexus 6 and love it. Android Wear is clunky at first but once you get used to it, navigating through the interface will be pretty simple. Also like the fact that all the basic watch functions including heart rate monitor, pedometer, and stop watch all work without being paired with an Android phone.

Watch looks good enough to stand on it’s own and definitely looks like a $300+ watch! Here’s a comparison with the other watches that I have.

Sony Xperia Z2 Review

Sony’s Xperia flagship phones usually have the most up to date hardware and best designs, and the Xperia Z1 offered excellent performance and a stylish look. Unfortunately the camera on the Z1 fell short against other smartphones, and the TFT TRILUMINOS display looked washed out at the wrong angles.

The Sony Xperia Z2 shipped about six months after the Z1 launch, complete with identical camera hardware and slight improvements under the hood. The Z2 screen is also bigger, and it sports an IPS display, along with the latest Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM.

Will the Sony Xperia Z2 disappoint like the Z1? Let’s find out.

HTC One M8 First Impressions

Posted on April 13, 2014 by Louie Tran Posted in Daily News, Gadgets, Photography 1 Comment

My Phones as of 4-14-2014

Added an M8 to my collection. I really need therapy

Just took a few photos so far and the camera overall is pretty good. I wouldn’t say fantastic but not as bad as people would fear. Love the form factor and how fast and responsive the phone is. Button placement is somewhat awkward but I got used to it pretty quick. As some of you have said, that area where the HTC logo is at is a waste of space.

Here are the first photos I have taken with this phone:

Sony Xperia Z1 Review

A contender for the best smartphone?

After reviewing the Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 I didn’t think there would be a phone that could top that, until the Sony Xperia Z1 caught my attention. You see, deep down inside I am always looking for the best of the best and in my mind, the Note 3 is the king of all smartphones at the moment. Seeing the specs of the Xperia Z1 in being powered by the same Snapdragon 800 processor on the Note 3, having a much more premium quality build, an Exmor RS 20-MegaPixel camera, and being water resistant of all that, this has just about everything going for it. Will this dethrone the Galaxy Note 3? Let’s find out!  Continue reading→

Is Bigger Better?

Before I start, let me say this: the iPhone 5S is a great phone. Probably one of the best all around phones there is round now in terms of performance, camera quality and huge selection of apps. But unfortunately for me, I got bored of the small screen size and iOS7 within a matter of weeks. The small 4-inch screen size makes viewing photos and videos difficult. I think my eyes are starting to wear out on me because when I was trying to watch my video podcasts or Netflix while on the treadmill or on the stairmaster in the gym, it was a real strain. And I gave up trying to read subtitles on anime on that tiny screen! iOS7, while a decent upgrade from the previous version is still a letdown with limitations that other mobile operating systems had for years, such as smart dialing and Swype/Swiftkey features. I don’t want to turn this to turn into an iOS7 vs Android debate so let’s focus on the hardware…

Here we have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – a powerhouse smartphone with the latest Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor and a dominating 5.7-inch screen (outdoing the previous Note 2’s 5.5-inch)! Is bigger really better? Or is this just another giant box full of short-lived gimmicks? Let’s find out!  Continue reading→
