On Part One of our Taiwan and Guam Vacation, we ended off at the falls in Shi-Fen. Here’s another look at the waterfalls. This was one of the situations where I had something better than an iPhone 5S to capture the beauty of this place, but as they say… the best camera is the one you have on you and thankfully the iPhone was no slouch. Karo and I finally took some time off out of the country and went to visit some friends and family in both Taiwan and Guam this February and March. We tried the make the most of out of two weeks but it is definitely not enough time to explore Taiwan and Guam… well Taiwan mostly. You can get through Guam in a day or two 😉
I was born in Guam and moved to Southern California till I was 17 so I was there for most of my life. Karo is born in Taiwan so we decided to visit each other’s birthplace.
On this trip, I left the iPad Air and MacBook Air 13-inch, and digital camera back home and decided to try out the Surface Pro 2 for my computing needs and the iPhone 5S to take pictures with and to keep myself entertained on flights. It turns out I didn’t even use the Surface Pro 2 that much as it was sort of cumbersome using it as either a tablet or a laptop. I relied heavily on the iPhone 5S for everything else. I moved from Guam to California in 1998 and to this day, still haven’t gotten used to the dry air especially at night when I sleep. I’ve have pretty bad allergies and the dryness of the air makes it very difficult to sleep several nights which makes me wake up feeling tired. Now that it’s winter, this is when things get really bad. Allergies act up and skin gets really dry especially with the heater being on to stay warm.
I finally got around to getting a humidifier and chose something small to start out with and boy what a huge difference it made! I slept for 9 hours straight without needing to wake up with a clogged nose and my skin isn’t as dry when I’m at home! I bought the Holmes Ultrasonic Teapot Humidifier for $29.99 and it’s perfect for nightstands in the bedroom or in a small office. I’m thinking of getting one more for my home office (so I don’t have to switch back and forth with the bedroom), and one for my office at work. I may even invest in a much larger humidifier for the living room. Highly recommended! Totally improved my life!
