I’ve been so busy as of late and haven’t had time to do any reviews or simple posts. Just recently, we (I) acquired THISISMYWORKSPACE.COM which is a domain name that I thought of when walking home after having a couple of Cajun Fish Tacos over at Wahoo’s. For years, The Geeks Office really never had any direction so it was really hard to figure out what I was going to do with this domain. For now I am going to keep things as they are but focus more on the workspaces. I enjoy looking at how people’s have theirs setup whether it be at work, at home, or even on the floor. It doesn’t really matter. I also just setup a Flickr group called This is My Workspace where you can go ahead and feel free to post your workspace and I will feature it on the site.
To make things more fun in the future and to get more participation, I am going to feature contests with prizes for those who snap a photo and talk about where they are working at the moment and the tools they use for whatever job they are doing. Pictured above is my current workspace in my home office which is an iMac 27-inch. But it wasn’t always like that before…
I had a really cluttered workspace and it pretty much reflected how chaotic things were in how I worked. The lesser the clutter, the better the focus. Here I had a MacBook Pro connected to an Apple Thunderbolt Display with my phones and external drives all over the place. I even had the printer on the desk which I hardly used and it was taking a lot of space!
Going a little further back, I lived in a tiny apartment so my workspace was very limited. I had a really small desk and my workspace was pretty cramped for the type of work I was doing, however this was all I had to work with and had to use an iPad as a second screen!
Saving the best for last… This was my desk almost 5 years ago! Ugh the memories… I don’t even know how I got anything done!
